The services offered by Guiding Peer Support (the "Website" and "Company") are rooted in peer-to-peer mentorship, shared lived experiences, and supportive wellness guidance. By interacting with our website, completing our forms, or participating in our peer support activities, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:
1. Not a Substitute for Medical or Clinical Treatment
Peer support is not clinical therapy, psychiatric treatment, medical care, or counseling.
Our peer supporters are individuals with shared lived experiences who provide supportive mentorship. They are not licensed medical doctors, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, or medical healthcare professionals.
- No communication on or through this Website establishes a doctor-patient or therapist-client relationship.
- You should not disregard, delay, or modify any medical or professional mental health treatment or prescription due to any information or mentorship received from GPS Peers.
2. Peer Support Boundaries & Voluntary Participation
Peer support is an entirely voluntary, collaborative relationship focused on wellness, goal-setting, and mutual encouragement.
- Any guidance, insights, or resources shared during peer support sessions are suggestions based on personal lived experience.
- You assume full responsibility for how you choose to apply or interpret peer support insights in your own life.
3. Not a Crisis Intervention or Emergency Service
🚨 Urgent: Not an Emergency Line
THIS WEBSITE AND OUR PEER SUPPORT SERVICES ARE NOT DESIGNED FOR CRISIS INTERVENTION OR EMERGENCIES.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, having thoughts of self-harm or suicide, or are in physical danger, please do not wait for a peer support response. Immediately contact emergency resources:
- Call 911 (or your local emergency services).
- Call or Text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (available 24/7, free, and confidential in the US).
- Go to the nearest hospital emergency room.
4. Limitation of Liability
By choosing to use our Website and participate in peer support services, you release Guiding Peer Support, its officers, employees, volunteers, and peer supporters from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of any decisions, actions, or outcomes resulting from your engagement with our peer services.
